Kanji Typer: Quickly Look Up and Input Japanese Kanji Characters
Kanji Typer is a Chrome extension that allows you to easily look up and input Japanese kanji characters into any input field on a website. With this extension, you can search for kanji characters by entering their keyword or a combination of component names from James Heisig's "Remembering the Kanji" textbook series.
The extension provides fuzzy search functionality, allowing you to enter only part of a keyword or a subset of a kanji's components. You can then browse the list of matching results to find the desired kanji.
Selecting a kanji character is simple. You can navigate to it using the arrow keys or by clicking on its entry. Pressing "Enter" will insert the selected kanji into the current cursor position in a field on a website, while pressing "Ctrl+C" will copy it to your clipboard. Additionally, a double click on any entry directly inserts the respective kanji into the input field.
Please note that the keyboard shortcut to open the extension popup, which is set to "Ctrl+Space" by default, can be changed in Google Chrome's extension management tab.
Kanji Typer is a free extension available for Chrome users and is especially useful for those studying Japanese or needing to input kanji characters regularly.
